Catherine McAuley

Founder of Sisters of Mercy 1778-1841

Loving God, You chose Catherine McAuley for the service of your people who are poor, sick and uneducated. You inspired her to found the Sisters of Mercy so that these good works might endure. Give to each of us a portion of her compassionate spirit and an ardent desire to serve your suffering people.

Bless all our undertakings and grant that union and charity may always thrive among us.

Graciously, hear our prayer for Catherine and by granting the favors we ask through her intercession, hasten the day when her sanctity will be celebrated by all the Church. Amen.

“Come and See” Experience in Chuuk

Come and See Chuuk Experience

Seven ladies responded to the invitation of Sister Cabrini Taitano and Sister Erencia Saipweirik to the first in a series of “Come and See” experiences at Mercy Convent Chuuk on February 12, 2012. The program included a prayer service, viewing of a vocation promotion CD, sharing of vocation stories, and a Q & A time with the ladies about religious life. Before going home, the girls were treated to “comfortable glasses of iced tea” with homemade tuna sandwiches, banana bread and oatmeal cookies. All are looking forward to the next “Come and See” with the sisters, scheduled on March 11.

  • What a beautiful sight to see seven ladies inquiring about our lives as Sisters of Mercy. We are with you in prayer and in spirit. It looks like Chuuk is off to a good start. Thank you Cab and Rence.
