Catherine McAuley

Founder of Sisters of Mercy 1778-1841

Loving God, You chose Catherine McAuley for the service of your people who are poor, sick and uneducated. You inspired her to found the Sisters of Mercy so that these good works might endure. Give to each of us a portion of her compassionate spirit and an ardent desire to serve your suffering people.

Bless all our undertakings and grant that union and charity may always thrive among us.

Graciously, hear our prayer for Catherine and by granting the favors we ask through her intercession, hasten the day when her sanctity will be celebrated by all the Church. Amen.

Mercy Day 2012 Celebration

On Sunday, September 23, 2012, one day before the actual feast of Our Lady of Mercy, patroness of the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of Mercy, associates, and guests gathered at Sister Roberta Center for the annual celebration of Mercy Day. Highlighting the memorable event was the Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Andre Eduvala, the missioning of the Sisters of Mercy, and the “thank you” presentation to Atty. Ed Terlaje, for his many years of pro bono legal services given to the community. Present to witness the special presentation was his family. Like in the past Mercy Day celebration, it was an occasion to remember our Mercy heritage, celebrate the gift of community, and to pray for one another as the sisters continue to spread God’s mercy to the world.

Sister Mary Cecilia Camacho, Guam Administrator of the Sisters of Mercy on Guam, welcomes everyone to the celebration of Mercy Day.

Sister Orlean Pereda, Guam Leadership Team member, greets Sister Mary David Richard at the Missioning Rite. Sister Mary David presently teaches part-time at Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School.  Atty. Eddie Terlaje, is handed a plaque of appreciation and a Mercy cross by Sister Cecilia Camacho, in a simple yet meaningful presentation to thank him for his pro bono legal services to the community.

It was a great, meaningful celebration for our sisters, associates and the Terlaje family. Thanks for this great work!
