PRAYER FOR THE BEATIFICATION OF MOTHER CATHERINE MCAULEY

Loving God, You chose Catherine McAuley for the service of your people who are poor, sick and uneducated. You inspired her to found the Sisters of Mercy so that these good works might endure. Give to each of us a portion of her compassionate spirit and an ardent desire to serve your suffering people.

Bless all our undertakings and grant that union and charity may always thrive among us.

Graciously, hear our prayer for Catherine and by granting the favors we ask through her intercession, hasten the day when her sanctity will be celebrated by all the Church. Amen.

New Guam Mercy Leadership Team

Following their Mercy South Central Community Assembly held in North Carolina in June, the Sisters of Mercy held their Guam local Assembly on August 13-14, 2016 at the Sister Roberta Center in Oka, Tamuning. The two-fold agenda was set: to discuss matters of mission and ministry on Guam and to elect the new Leadership Team for the period of 2016-2020. Elected to the new leadership team were: Sister Marian Therese Arroyo as Guam Mercy Administrator; Sister Maria Rosario Gaite as Assistant Administrator; and Sister Elizabeth Ann Uncangco as Team Member. Sister Marian has served in various capacities as Director of the Offices of Worship, Pastoral Planning and Faith Formation in the Archdiocese of Agana, Chancery Office, and is also Chair of the Golden Jubilee of the Diocese Executive Planning Committee. Sister Maria Rosario Gaite is Co-director of Mercy Vocation Ministry and is the Vice-Principal at Santa Barbara Catholic School in Dededo. Sister Elizabeth Ann Uncangco is the Assistant to the Guam Mercy Treasurer and served as a teacher at AOLG and Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School. We extend our prayerful support to the new team and our thanks to the outgoing team: Sisters Mary Cecilia Camacho, Maria Rosario Gaite and Orlean Pereda for their service since 2012.
