Loving God, You chose Catherine McAuley for the service of your people who are poor, sick and uneducated. You inspired her to found the Sisters of Mercy so that these good works might endure. Give to each of us a portion of her compassionate spirit and an ardent desire to serve your suffering people.

Bless all our undertakings and grant that union and charity may always thrive among us.

Graciously, hear our prayer for Catherine and by granting the favors we ask through her intercession, hasten the day when her sanctity will be celebrated by all the Church. Amen.

Sr. Marian - at Pacific Region Conf on Human Trafficking

January 15, 2011. Sister Marian Arroyo was one of the panelists at the conference “Strategies for Justice: A Pacific Vision” organized by the US Attorney’s Office in commemoration of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Held at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort, the conference covered issues of human trafficking, child abuse, child sexual exploitation, crisis intervention, bullying, cyberbullying and sexting. Sr. Marian shared how religious communities, particularly the Sisters of Mercy attend to the critical concerns of our times and uphold the church’s stance on the respect for and uplifting of human dignity.
